Texas Top 100 is a media publication aimed at telling the stories of basketball players and teams originating from the state of Texas. We rank and promote Texas high school and middle school players using our website, tournaments and other media outlets.

Zach is an award-winning sports writer who graduated from Texas Tech University in 2014 with a degree in communications. Zach is an energetic freelance sports writer, web content creator, graphic designer and social media professional. He’s a managing editor for SB Nation and contributor to Rivals.com. Zach founded Texas Top 100 shortly after graduating from Texas Tech with a degree in journalism in 2014. His articles have been linked on ESPN.com, Friday Night Glory, TexasTech.com, Yahoo! Sports and numerous other outlets. In 2015, he started the Texas Top 100 Academy to give opportunities to ambitious writers in high school to contribute to the website and cover their local games.
Nils Dekau, co-founder (@texasgymrats)
Nils has been running tournaments with the Texas Gym Rats for more than a decade. He has been a public figure in Central Texas basketball for years, and his ties with coaches from various universities allow him the scoop on top recruits and their decision-making.
Texas Top 100 Academy
Each year, Texas Top 100 selects about a dozen writers from high schools around the state to join the TT100 Academy, a program where publisher Zach Mason develops young aspiring sports writers and works with their teachers to improve their students’ writing skills.
