After posting a 20-point, 20-rebound game against Richardson yesterday, David Nzekwesi has tallied four offers in the last 24 hours.
North Texas, UT-Arlington, Stephen F. Austin and Texas State have all extended scholarship offers to the 6’8 big man from Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club.
“It’s amazing,” Nzekwesi said. “I just love how God has blessed me with my skills. And each coaching staff is very good and has experienced coaches. I appreciate that they have offered me an opportunity to play at the next level.”
Born and raised in the Netherlands, Nzekwesi and his family moved to Texas four years ago, where he had family on his mother’s side. Since then, he has established himself as one of the up-and-coming prospects in the class of 2018.
Though he won’t commit until his senior year, Nzekwesi said he is looking for a school that has strong academics and quality coaches.
“I’m looking for a good education, good basketball program and coaches,” he said. “A school where I will get to play, and a good environment.”
