The Leander Lions pummeled the East View Patriots in Tuesday’s game, 73-32.
The Lions started off fast paced in the first quarter, scoring 19 points and leaving East View with only two. Leander players junior Cody Bayer and senior David Bonner led the team in their first quarter attack.
“I don’t know if we always start off fast, but I think when we do it really shows a sign that we’re focused,” Leander Head Coach Clint Bradley said.
The Lions continued to dominate and led at the half, 39-11. Leander junior Chase Cotton and sophomore Dalton Flowers got into the mix in the second half and ended their nights with 13 and 10 points respectively. For East View, offensive success was hard to come by but Zach Carter and Justin Derr combined for 12 points to lead the Patriots.
“We did really well,” junior Chase Cotton. “We definitely did better than last time we faced them even though we still won. We did a nice job on defense and a nice job on offense.”
Next, the Lions travel to Vista Ridge on Friday night to take on the Rangers. The Lions continue to fight for a playoff spot.
“We’re going to talk about defending and rebounding,” Bradley said. “We gotta make sure that we do that first and foremost, and then taking care of the ball, if we take care of the basketball then I think we should be okay.”
